Living in Purpose
On Purpose
Living in Purpose is a foundation (501-C3) dedicated to supporting pediatric health - our children, their children and their children's children - as the Iroquois said, "unto the seventh generation" - and beyond.
Current research is uncovering the direct and indirect impact of our present practices of waste disposal in the air, water and on the earth. This practices is impacting the developmental potential of all children. The by-products of our life style and the impact of life itself - mankind and all other life forms - are creating impact to long ignored. The effects of choices made, when life is new, become magnified as a body grows. A good, healthy start is the best gift that can be bestowed from one generation to the next.
Living in Purpose on Purpose supports the work of the Pediatric Environmental Health Fellowship established at the Children's Hospital of Boston and the Harvard Medical School's, Department of Pediatrics. The Living in Purpose Foundation is sponsoring a special awareness and fund raising program called "Ride On", which will use a cross-country journey on horseback, to bring our message to many communities.
I ask for the words to come in why we ride. We ride in peace for peace; we ride to celebrate the gift of our environment. We ride to embrace the connection; we ride to raise a higher consciousness of and for earth.
We ride to raise awareness for the need to have environmental pediatric research for child hood malignancies, and this I am ashamed of, the fact that we intelligent humans, Who think that we are progressing as a species, but who in truth are poisoning the very thing that gives us life. We have not raised ourselves up to a higher consciousness, for if we had we would not be poisoning the very thing that we breath, we would not be poisoning the water that we drink, or the land that we live on. We would not be choosing to poison our children's future.
We have forgotten to celebrate all that was presented to us. In return our children are for sale. Our land air and water is for sale. We live as if this planet is here to be exploited for money at the cost of every living creature, and eco system that exists above and below the surface of this living orb. We live as if it is all here only for us, is it? Truthfully, for why would there be a working order that has sustained itself for millions of years, which we refuse to work with? That, that did not work well does not exists any more. Don't we seem to be working against our best interest? When was the last time you took the time to see the beauty of our land, or didn't have a hint of worry of what is to come for future generations and the planet they will have to live on. Great health, clean whole foods instead of processed food that is killing us, clean air, knowing that there no need to have warnings for poor air quality, and water that is clean from the tap that by right should be here to sustain all life not clean away our filth and use carelessly. Are we really calling what we are doing progress, then at what cost? Since when do we know what works best for this planet?
We create cheap useless products that will forever wreak havoc to this planet without even batting an eye, mostly because we don't think about our actions and for this many innocent children will carry the weight of a world that is unhealthy on their shoulders. Live was well lived before plastic. We make believe that this planet can sustain forever, the war that we bring, the violence that rises up, the unconsciousness that sickens instead of strengthen this planet.
Will we ever be truthful to ourselves about our life styles? Will we ever work with this planet instead of against it? Will we ever be able to become intelligent enough to live peacefully ? Will we ever be able to undo the damage that has been done to millions of species because of our wants and greed? Just look at what real stress is doing to our children and many specieaces. Will our children and other innocent lives have to be left unprotected because we can't admit that somewhere some how the cycle of consciousness can't be found?
This is not bad news, for today we can begin to Celebrate environment , to embrace connection , and to raise ourselves up to a conscious ness earth . It has to start somewhere; will you please celebrate with us all that is wonderful? I want to roll up my sleeves and get to work for my children and their children and 7 generations and beyond. When it is my time to go I want to leave this planet knowing that it is safer, healthier, cleaner, for our children and all other living species and all the generations that are to come. I want that for my legacy what about you? Together we can do this, bit by bit. |
